Market Brief: A positive outlook in the face of adversity

Market Brief: A positive outlook in the face of adversity

Market Brief: A positive outlook in the face of adversity Well, where do I start?! First of all, I hope that you, your family and friends are well and doing your best to stay safe in these strange and unprecedented times.

It’s been difficult to know quite when to issue this market brief, with the situation surrounding Covid-19 ever-changing, and with government updates coming thick and fast.

What follows is a summary of what we at Hudson Moody are doing and my thoughts and feelings given the current circumstances, although please be mindful this may well change over the coming days and weeks! We are now into week two of our team working from home and whilst our office is closed, we are still very much open for business.

We are embracing technology and having invested heavily in cloud-based software in recent years, we’re able to continue working remotely quite easily.

Sales that were already in progress before restrictions were introduced are still progressing well with all parties involved, solicitors, banks etc.

still able to keep things moving.

Removal companies are still able to operate under the latest government guidance (23 March).

I’m also pleased to report that this weekend we have continued to receive offers and agree sales for properties we have on the market! If you had been thinking of selling your property, we are still able to provide a ‘desktop’ valuation.

With more than 30 years of estate agency experience in York, I have been in a large percentage of the city’s homes and can therefore provide an accurate valuation without having to step inside!Again, we are embracing technology by preparing video tours of our properties so that potential buyers can view them online in the first instance before arranging a viewing appointment when it is safe to do so.

Of course, we will continue to monitor and adhere to the government’s latest guidance and adapt of practices and procedures accordingly.

We remain positive and know that we live in one of the most desirable, and resilient cities in the UK and we will bounce back!If you would like to have a chat about your current circumstances or are in need of some friendly advice, please do give me a call on 01904 650650 and we will do our very best to help.
